Family & leisure
6-Lakes Tour
The popular leisure loop past six bathing lakes, including Lake Klopein, Lake Turner and the nearby Pirkdorfer See (around 54 km, gently rolling and family-friendly). From us you join the loop easily at the Pirkdorfer See. If you would rather not ride the whole loop, ride out only and take the train back with your bike from Kühnsdorf-Klopeiner See.
One of the longest flow trails in Europe: over 10 km and around 1,500 metres of descent, with a comfortable gondola ride to the top. Plus nine bike-park lines, from the kids' nature trail to the pro line.
Bike on the train, in around 35 minutes straight to Klagenfurt West and once around Lake Wörthersee: a loop of almost 48 km (around 3 hours, moderate). A whole day of cycling without a car.
Ride out, stay until the sun sits behind the Karawanken, and take the train back with the bike. In mid-October the sun sets around 6.20 pm, so you do not have to wait until late for the evening by the water. The full plan for the day, two route options and the GPX files are on its own page.
Runs right past the house, from Jaunstein via Bleiburg to Aich, and connects to the Drava cycle path. Show more

Long-distance routes
Two long-distance cycle routes run through our valley
You do not need to travel anywhere for the big tour. The Drauradweg and the Carinthian Lakes Loop both run here in the Jaun valley, so you join them practically at the front door.
Drauradweg R1
River route · flat · stage area 5, South Carinthia
One of Europe's most popular riverside cycle paths, flat and signposted throughout. The R1D Jauntalweg passes right in front of our house and takes you onto the route without a detour. Stage area 5 runs from Ferlach via Völkermarkt to Lavamünd, straight through our region.
around 428 km · 8 stages · turning point Lake Klopein
The big leisurely round trip to Carinthia's 20 most beautiful lakes, laid out as a figure of eight. Stage 5 leads through the Rosen and Jaun valleys to Lake Klopein, where the loop turns back west. It is about 18 km from us, or around 10 minutes by train from Bleiburg.
Petzen, the local mountain, is one of Carinthia's bike highlights: over 10 km of flow trail with around 1,500 metres of altitude, plus nine bike-park lines and skills courses, also for children and beginners.

More to experience: train and bike perfectly connected
You don't need a car for big tours: it is around 8 minutes by bike to Bleiburg station (downhill), trains run hourly and the bike comes along. For the way back there is a comfortable weekend alternative: from Friday to Sunday the Postbus Shuttle picks you up with your bike at the station, seasonally, and drives right up to our house, so the 2.5 km and 120 metres of climbing fall away. The same applies to your arrival, when bike and luggage travel with you. Booking is done in the app, at least one hour ahead.
