Holidays by Koralmbahn in Carinthia

Graz and Klagenfurt in under an hour.

Since December 2025 the Koralmbahn has connected Klagenfurt and Graz in 42 minutes. We are not somewhere near that line, we are tied straight into it by the Bleiburg loop: three apartments in southern Carinthia, for family holidays, active holidays and autumn breaks.

Cycling, hiking, swimming in the lake

From Kühnsdorf-Klopeiner See or Bleiburg station you carry on without a car: by bike around the lakes, up the Petzen, or straight to the bathing lake. Three ways from here, each with the full detail on its own page.

Family holiday, active holiday or autumn break

Three apartments, one house in a secluded setting: families have the ponies, the nature pond and the playground right outside the door, active guests set off on foot or by bike up the Petzen, and in autumn the area is at its quietest.

Journey times

How quickly you reach us

All times from Bleiburg station, our home station. From there it is another 2.5 km to the house, and we or the ÖBB shuttle cover that stretch.

For comparison: the Koralmbahn itself covers Klagenfurt to Graz in 42 minutes on the Railjet Xpress. The reason a train stops here hourly rather than three times a day is the Bleiburg loop: it ties Bleiburg into the new line at both ends, in the east at Wiederndorf-Aich towards Graz, in the west towards Klagenfurt.

Journey times checked on 27 July 2026 against the ÖBB timetable. The current timetable below is always the authoritative source.

Direct services from Vienna and Germany

Kühnsdorf-Klopeiner See is our long-distance station for everyone travelling from further away, from Vienna as much as from Germany: the S1 gets you there from Bleiburg in ten minutes, hourly and without a change. The WESTbahn runs ten times a day directly to and from Vienna. Once a day an ICE runs through to Frankfurt am Main without a single change, calling at Salzburg and Munich. Late in the evening a Nightjet leaves towards Vorarlberg, from where Switzerland is well connected.

The KlimaTicket Österreich is valid on both ÖBB and WESTbahn. Two operators on the same line means one thing above all for you: you have a choice on price.

Frequent questions about arriving by Koralmbahn

Does the Koralmbahn stop in Bleiburg?
The new line itself passes Bleiburg, its nearest stop being Kühnsdorf-Klopeiner See. Bleiburg is tied into that line at both ends by the Bleiburg loop, in the east at Wiederndorf-Aich towards Graz, in the west towards Klagenfurt. In practice that means: you travel hourly and without a change, 25 minutes to Klagenfurt and 10 minutes to the long-distance station at Kühnsdorf.
Which stations are relevant for us?
Bleiburg is our home station, 2.5 km away and almost always the best choice for arriving. Ten minutes away on the S1 lies Kühnsdorf-Klopeiner See, the Koralmbahn station with the long-distance services. Bleiburg Stadt is an additional halt on the Bleiburg loop.
Can I travel with the WESTbahn?
Yes. The WESTbahn stops at Kühnsdorf-Klopeiner See ten times a day, including direct services to and from Vienna. From there it is 10 minutes to Bleiburg on the S1. Your KlimaTicket Österreich is valid on the WESTbahn too.
Can I get here from Germany without a car?
Yes. At Kühnsdorf-Klopeiner See, ten minutes from us, an ICE stops daily and runs through to Frankfurt am Main without a change, calling at Munich and Salzburg on the way. In the evening a Nightjet leaves towards Vorarlberg, from where Switzerland is easy to reach. The S1 takes you to Kühnsdorf hourly and without a change.
How do I get from the station to the accommodation?
It is 2.5 km from Bleiburg station. The ÖBB Transfer Kärnten drives you straight to the accommodation when booked the day before, currently bookable by phone only on +43 5 171711. Alternatively we collect you, just tell us your arrival time.
Can I bring my bike?
On the train yes, with a bike ticket and a space reservation. Within the region the REX carries your bike too, and at weekends, seasonally, so does the Postbus Shuttle Südkärnten. We have a lockable bike room here, all the detail on our cycling page.
